How do I lock my e-bike?

Modified on Wed, 17 Jan at 4:24 PM

Always lock up your bike any time you are not using it. Lock it using the Sold Secure Gold Lock that is provided free with your subscription and make sure it is locked through the frame to an immovable object.

Remove the battery when the bike is not in use and keep this in a secure location at your place of work or at home.

Do not leave the bike locked in any location for longer than 24 hours.

Where possible, keep your bike in your home at night or at the very least locked up in a secure location.

If you have a Brompton then you should always take this with you into your place of work or home.

Some common mistakes:

You must lock the frame of the bike to an immovable object using the Sold Secure Gold D-lock provided. Locking the frame with a cable and using the D-lock as a padlock is insufficient.

If you are locking your bike to a lamp-post, make sure that it’s not one that your lock (and bike) can be easily lifted up, over and off.
